Description
There are many way to make Veal Saltimbocca. I got this version from my friend Monica. She is a great Italian chef. I tried the recipe out a couple of times. It is definitely a crowd pleaser. I showed my video to Monica. She confirmed that I did it right.
Ingredients
- 1 lb thing sliced veal. (pork or chicken work also but veal tastes the best)
- 1⁄2 lb provolone cheese or american cheese - sliced
- 1⁄2 lb prosciutto (flavorful italian ham, without skin) - get it from supermarket deli section - sliced
- 1⁄2 c parmesan cheese. to taste, add at the end.
- 3⁄4 c white wine
- 2 T olive oil / butter
- 1 tooth picks
Instructions
Direction:
- lay the veal flat
- put on salt and pepper to taste
- put on sliced prosciutto
- put on sliced cheese
- roll and pin it with toothpick
- preheat oven 350 degree
- cook for 25mins, cheese will meat and veal will be cooked.
- put on Parmesan Cheese.
Notes
Other ideas:
- Try Mozzarella Cheese, American Cheese,
- Add bread crumbs
- Add some Eggs
