There are many way to make Veal Saltimbocca. I got this version from my friend Monica. She is a great Italian chef. I tried the recipe out a couple of times. It is definitely a crowd pleaser. I showed my video to Monica. She confirmed that I did it right.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thing sliced veal. (pork or chicken work also but veal tastes the best)
  • 1⁄2 lb provolone cheese or american cheese - sliced
  • 1⁄2 lb prosciutto (flavorful italian ham, without skin) - get it from supermarket deli section - sliced
  • 1⁄2 c parmesan cheese. to taste, add at the end.
  • 3⁄4 c white wine
  • 2 T olive oil / butter
  • 1 tooth picks

Instructions

Direction:

  • lay the veal flat
  • put on salt and pepper to taste
  • put on sliced prosciutto
  • put on sliced cheese
  • roll and pin it with toothpick
  • preheat oven 350 degree
  • cook for 25mins, cheese will meat and veal will be cooked.
  • put on Parmesan Cheese.

Notes

Other ideas:

  • Try Mozzarella Cheese, American Cheese,
  • Add bread crumbs
  • Add some Eggs
